Do I really leave for California tomorrow? That is the thought that has run through my head so many times today. It seems like just yesterday we received the news that Dr. Shahinian had agreed to do the surgery.
I have an overwhelming peace about the entire process. I am already relieved emotionally and I have no doubt that my peace comes from God and my wonderful praying friends.
Today has been like a circus. It’s been a day filled of packing, errands, and resting. I had great surprise visitors today! My cousin, Taylor Musso, and his girlfriend came to visit today. I am also excited to have a visit from a close high school friend, Blake Guinn, later tonight! Pain has been manageable by medicines today, once again.
As of now this is my plan for the week.
Tomorrow is a travel day. We will fly into LAX and the driver will take us 48 miles to our hotel in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Wednesday we will meet with our Surgeon in Los Angeles and he will go over the entire procedure and look over my MRI films with us. After our meeting, we will drive back to Thousand Oaks and I will have pre operative testing at Los Robles Hospital.
Thursday is THE day. My surgery is at 7:30 (9:30 AM Alabama time) and it is expected to last around 3 hours. I will stay in ICU the first night and after that Dr. Shahinian will decide if I can move out into a regular room.
The following day after surgery, I will begin Physical Therapy and work on walking and arm movements.
Everything after that will just be according to how I am doing.
My parents will be updating the blog and I ask that you please pray specifically for the requests they make. I know I will have several challenges post op and I pray each of those will go smoothly.
What is impossible for humans is possible for the Lord. -Luke 18:27
P.S. I am updating earlier tonight because we will be leaving for the airport at 4:30 in the morning.
P.S.S. GET READY IN-N-OUT BURGER!
