Day 32 & 33

Not much to report from the last two days. I have increased my physical activity each day by a small amount so that I am pushing myself enough to see improvement. I walk my around neighborhood several times a day, go to lunch with my mom and run a few errands.

Pain continues to see improvement with every passing day. Minimal Brain pressure (seems to be more at night), weakness/ fatigue, and visual disturbances.

Since the last time I updated, I noticed that my head feels as heavy as a bowling ball on my neck. My parents checked my incision and noticed redness and irritation. Dr. Shahinian prescribed antibiotics, along with washing the hair twice a day, and using hydrogen peroxide. It’s nothing more than a small skin infection and after a day’s worth of the above routine, is getting better.

I know I might sound a bit like a broken record when reporting my pain level each time that I blog, but I put my specific symptoms for those who read the blog with hopes of finding answers to their pain.

I have been busy organizing all of my school paperwork to make sure I am ready for classes starting tomorrow. I cannot even express how excited I am. I enjoy my classes at UA and although I will miss physically attending classes along with the hands on material, I am excited to be staying on track with my education and not letting this journey get me off track. Just that much closer to achieving my career goals.

Much love,

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find. -Matthew 7:7

  1. Thanks for all of this information. It really has helped my family and anticipate what we will need after my surgery. I have a date now, Oct 10. I am a little concerned about the infection as this is one of my biggest fears. I am a nurse and in this case, have a little too much clinical knowledge. Do you think your hair irritated it and led to the infection? This has been one thing I keep coming back to when I think of the surgery – the hair and its risk for infection. Thanks again for all of your help, and good luck with classes!
